The Windsor and Essex County Insurance Brokers put an initiative together to recognize a local broker member who goes above and beyond when it comes to giving back to the community. This resulted in the first annual “Broker Volunteer of the Year Award”. The criteria to win was simple. A broker must be nominated by another broker for their volunteerism. Those nominees were then put forth to the board and voted on based on the biographies supplied. The selection process was difficult. But in the end our very own Bruce Rand was chosen as the first Windsor Essex County Broker Volunteer of the Year Award recipient.
Bruce was recognized May 3rd at the regional Meet the Underwriter event in front of 250 brokers and underwriters from 23 companies. He was presented a plaque, trophy, and a cheque for $1500 to give to the charity of his choice.
Many of our staff give generously of their time and energy to improve the communities that we live and work in. So we are delighted when one of our staff is publicly recognized for their contribution. It is especially appropriate that Bruce was selected by his peers.
PBL Insurance will also be making a donation to a charity of Bruce’s choice.
